YouTube has recently announced and launched Creator Music - and music licensed and delivered to YouTube via Too Lost will now be subject to this exciting new program. See below for more information on YouTube Creator Music.


What is Creator Music:

Found within YouTube Studio, Creator Music is a constantly growing catalog of quality music that creators will now be able to use in videos without losing monetization. Some songs are eligible to be licensed upfront, allowing creators to retain full monetization. Alternatively, others may be eligible to share revenue with the track’s rights holders. Creator music is a win-win for creators, artists and fans by enabling creativity, growing promotion, unlocking additional and pushing discovery.

Features - Creator Music/YPP:

Homepage:

Tracks can be found on the Home Page which includes your favorite music from emerging artists, the ability to use music from some of your favorite artists, as well as Programmable Collections (Contextual, Seasonal, etc).


Creator Music Storefront:

Creators can now browse music on the Home Page to use in their content without having to worry about licensing or Content ID claims / copyright removal cases with the following options that dictate Creator Music Usage:


Obtain a license: Pay an upfront fee (or no fee for some tracks) to use music in your monetizing video. Earn the same revenue share that applies to your monetizing videos without music.

Share revenue: Pay no upfront fee and split video revenue with the track’s rights holders.


Usage details are available to creators in advance to avoid conflict. Keep in mind for both creators and artists, that there are restrictions to be aware of.


Creators can search the available library and identify / select tracks based on certain attributes as well as download it prior to usage in order to ensure it works well with the respective content. Tracks are available at all price points and can be set within the storefront.


Ways to Activate Creator Music to Maximize Output Strategies/Optimize Releases:

  • Boost your new releases by making them available in the library
  • Use Creator Music Studio to build anticipation around Release Cycle
  • Setup pricing in the Management tab in YouTube studio in storefront
  • Prices are subject to change and can be adjusted at any time based on song and video performance, or otherwise. Pricing Strategy is up to you!
  • Re-Share videos where creators use your tracks via the Community Tab
  • Engage and activate creators using your music in a social capacity.

  • Promote the availability of your songs in Creator Music on the YouTube Community Tab
  • Partner with creators who use or have used your music in their videos to reach a wider audience and further awareness of where your music is available
  • Engage with fans on creator videos that use your music
