Songtradr Acquires Sync Licensing Company Cuesongs
The music licensing company Songtradr has just acquired sync licensing company Cuesongs in a high profile deal.
Earlier this year, Songtradr raised 30 million in Series C funding. The acquisition of Cuesongs, which owns the rights to over 150 indie labels, will be Songtradr’s first acquisition since the funding round.
Last year, Songtradr acquired Big Sync Music, which is a UK company known as "the world’s largest sync agency."
The financial terms of this new deal between Songtradr and Cuesongs have not been disclosed to this date.
Cuesongs currently has over 20,000 tracks in their catalog, including songs from artists such as Knucks, Kamakaze, Duke & Jones, and Flux Pavillion.
The CEO of Songtradr, Paul Wiltshire, stated “Cuesongs is a premium music agency. The caliber of talent they work with and the quality of the tracks they license makes them a natural fit for integrating into our ecosystem.”
The Creative Director of Cuesongs, Justin McMullen, responded by saying “Songtradr’s artist-first approach completely aligns with our vision at Cuesongs. They have rapidly become the leading music licensing marketplace and we’re delighted to be joining forces as we continue to foster strong relationships between our artists and buyers.”
