Peter Jackson Releases Sneak Peek of Beatles Documentary, "Get Back"
This past Monday, Paul McCartney released a five minute clip of Peter Jackson’s upcoming Beatles documentary, “Get Back”, on his Twitter. The video features never before seen footage of The Beatles’ Let It Be sessions that were filmed throughout the year of 1969. Peter Jackson and his team sifted through 56 hours of never before seen footage to make the documentary they are releasing on August 27th, 2021.
The clip shows The Beatles’ ‘Let It Be’ sessions in a rather happy manner, which is very different to the 1970 documentary release “Let It Be”, which shows The Beatles at a breaking point and constantly fighting with one another.
“There were hours and hours of us just laughing and playing music, not at all like the version came out,” claimed Beatles drummer Ringo Starr about the original film. “There was a lot of joy and I think Peter will show that. I think this version will be a lot more peaceful and loving, like we really were.”
The footage promises to be “a fly on the wall” during the creation of the ‘Let It Be’ album.
