Paul McCartney releases "McCartney III"
The day has finally arrived! On December 18th, Paul McCartney released his newest album “McCartney III” on all streaming platforms. It also marks the 50 year anniversary of the first "McCartney" in the trilogy.
The prior “McCartney” release was released in 1980 titled “McCartney II”, and the one before that was released in 1970 titled “McCartney”. This album comes as a new addition to a series of albums that Paul McCartney writes, produces and performs all by himself.
“Each day I’d start recording with the instrument I wrote the song on and then gradually layer it all up, it was a lot of fun,” McCartney stated. “It was about making music for yourself rather than making music that has to do a job. So, I just did stuff I fancied doing. I had no idea this would end up as an album.”
According to Rolling Stone Magazine, “It’s the warmest and friendliest of quarantine albums”.
