According to the Recording Academy’s newly released Form 990, the Grammy’s paid more than 4.5 million in legal fees last year.

The exact number paid by the Grammy’s is $4,522,077. Roughly 2.5 million of the payments were made to two law firms, Proskauer Rose and Greenberg Trauig.

The brief Recording Academy CEO Deborah Dugan, stated that the organization had paid “exorbitant and unnecessary” legal fees to the firms in past years. Aside from that, Joel Katz, who Dugan claimed sexually harassed her, holds a position at Greenberg Trauig and is known as the founding chairman of their media practices and global entertainment division.

The Recording Academy’s total revenue exceeded $91.62 million on the year, according to the Form 990, and the non-profit organization finished with $138.31 million in total assets (and $114.26 million in net assets).
