Daft Punk Breaks Up After 28 Years

Daft Punk has officially broken up after 28 years together.

The French duo announced the split in a video titled “Epilogue”, an 8 minute video which included them in their signature Daft Punk helmets and jackets walking through a deserted landscape. 

In the video, Bangalter removes his Daft Punk jacket which reveals a self destruct button. Homem-Christo then activates this self destruct button, blowing up Bangalter. After the explosion, gold and silver hands appeared on screen with a quote saying “1993-2021”. 

Daft Punk’s publicist has also confirmed the duo’s split. 

Daft Punk is one of the most prominent electronic music groups of all time, with artists from across all genres citing them as influences. Throughout Daft Punk's nearly 3-decade long musical career, they have won six GRAMMY awards.
