Artist Spotlight: Mad Tsai
Mad Tsai is a singer-songwriter releasing music that listeners of all genres can enjoy. Layering their soft vocals over up-tempo indie pop beats, they have created a sound of their own. Saying Mad Tsai takes their music seriously is an understatement. Looking for ways to hone their craft, they double majored in Music Industry/History and English at UCLA.
The earliest release that can be found on Mad Tsai’s Spotify is their track “Boy Bi (Acoustic)”. It is clear why the song gained popularity when you listen to the heartfelt and emotional lyrics. The non-acoustic rendition of the song skyrocketed Mad Tsai to popularity and gained them a loyal fanbase. The song currently has over 19 million streams on Spotify alone.
The following year, Mad Tsai released three tracks that showcased why they deserve to be where they are iin music. “That Friend” has amassed over 12 million streams, “Heartbreak Honeymoon” has amassed over 8 million streams, and “Killer Queen” is their biggest hit today coming in with a total of over 48 million streams.
This year, Mad Tsai released their debut EP “Homecoming!”. Songs like “Lover Boy” and “Stupid Friends” gave listeners more of the great music they have come to love from them.
