Artist Spotlight: Landon Cube
Landon Cube is a 24-year-old musician who has been putting out music consistently since 2016. Landon’s unique style of music can not be tied to just one genre. Calling Landon a rapper or hip-hop artist puts him in a box that does not accurately represent his ability to create all different types of music.
Coming out of Maryland, Landon started posting music to SoundCloud in 2016. Landon found himself in a friend group of creatives also striving to make a name for themselves. Landon’s friend Johnny Melton was creating his clothing brand Ransom, and Landon’s other friend Cameron Haller was blowing up on YouTube with his CUFBOYS channel. Johnny’s clothing brand was taking off, the CUFBOYS YouTube Channel was drawing in a bigger audience by the day, and Landon’s music career was starting to reach new heights.
In July of 2017, popular videographer and visionary Cole Bennet shot and released a music video for Landon’s song “18” on his YouTube channel. This video was a moment that exposed those following the growing underground music scene that Landon was an artist to look out for.
Soon after, Landon began to collaborate with Lil Skies, another musician quickly gaining traction in the music scene. The two went on to release their song “Red Roses”, showcasing their talent as a duo ready to take over. They continued to collaborate, but Landon’s career as a solo artist also continued to grow exponentially.
Landon has not slowed down making music ever since the day he started recording and releasing music. In 2019, Landon dropped his EP “Orange”, featuring the song “Makeup” which has 14 million streams on Spotify alone. London's most recent release, “24”, shows his fans that he’s still making the music they love, and shows new listeners music they should be listening to.
