Artist Spotlight: Kaleido
Kaleido is a band coming out of Detroit who puts a spin on what people come to expect from the rock and roll scene. Band members Christina Chriss, Joey Fava, Cody Morales, and Drew Johnston are pioneering a sound of their own.
Self-described as “one of the most unpredictable, unapologetic, and undeniable music forces in the scene”, the band is making music everyone can enjoy. Blending pop, metal, and alternative music is no easy task, but Kaleido finds a way to make it happen and executes it perfectly.
The earliest record found on Kaleido’s Spotify page is “My Enemy”, released in 2019. The song demonstrates the band's talents and ability to come together. Kaleido’s follow-up release, “Pretending” put their music at the forefront of the new-age rock and roll scene. The song amassed over half a million streams on Spotify alone.
Riding the success of their previous releases, Kaleido did not slow down when creating great music. Songs like “Trouble in Paradise”, “Dead to Me”, “Panic in a Pandemic” and “Run” encompass the same great sound their fans have come to love. Kaleido has also been given the recognition they deserve for their innovative music. The band has received three awards from The Detroit Music Awards.
Kaleido’s most recent release in 2022, “Ghosts”, is one of their best songs to date. 2023 will be a big year for Kaleido as they continue to release songs with their genre-bending and unique rock and roll sound.
