Artist Spotlight: Izaya Tiji
Izaya Tiji is a rapper/producer from Ohio that has established himself as one of the biggest artists of the newer generation of the underground. His unique flow, style, and cadence have pushed him to the forefront of the scene, and after listening to his music, you can see why he deserves all the recognition he receives.
The earliest song that can be found on Izaya’s SoundCloud is “#Slay #Jimsoja” which was released four years ago. The track is a great introduction to the music in Izaya’s discography, showcasing his talent as an artist in the underground scene. Izaya followed up the track with releases like “Intelligence” produced by Feelingplugg, “Again” produced by Ran, and “Collection” produced by ogplugg. As Izaya continued to drop music, he began to cultivate a fanbase that was becoming enamored with the music he was putting out.
In 2019, Izaya released his track “Interlude” which pushed his career to new heights. New fans were drawn in and old fans were pleased with the music he was putting out. That same year, Izaya released his album “20/20”. The 15-track project featured songs like “Hunna Hunna Hunnas”, “Like a Lambo”, and “Chain Me Down”, all of which carried the same sound his fans had come to love.
In 2020, Izaya released his single “Deeply” which allowed him to continue on the path to becoming one of the biggest artists of the next generation. The song currently has over 1.7 million streams on Spotify alone. Izaya followed up his next releases with his 25-track album “Know Nothing Else”, another example of why Izaya deserved to be the topic of discussion.
Most recently, Izaya released his EP “WASP”. When listening to the project, it makes sense why he is considered one of the best underground artists out right now.
