Artist Spotlight: Edo and Jo
Edo and Jo are Australian singer-songwriters who create music that makes listeners take a step back and fall into a soothing state. They describe their music as “an enchanting mix of Eastern mantra and Western pop that is both soothing and uplifting.”
Edo and Jo are not only musicians but also philanthropists, founding A Sound Life Charity. Sadly in September 2015, Jo passed away. Edo and Jo’s popularity is widespread in their genre. They performed at consciousness events and festivals all over and even had the opportunity to open for Deepak Chopra.
In 2012 their album Kirtan Alive was released. The album’s soothing and meditative qualities allow the listener to truly transcend into a place of comfort. They followed up the release of Kirtan Alive with their second album Bliss which merges in ancient mantras that truly pull the listener's minds to new depths. Their third album, Chakra Meditation, also carries those qualities.
Edo and Jo are more than musicians. They ran Sound Yoga workshops that focused on the voice, bhakti yoga, and the power of sound. They also went on to found A SOUND LIFE which is a charity “bringing the healing power of music and yoga as a free service to those who need it most in healthcare and underprivileged communities.”
