Artist Spotlight: Blacktop Mojo
Coming out of Texas, Blacktop Mojo is a band that makes music for true rock fans and listeners of all genres to enjoy. The band was founded by Matt James and Nathan Gillis in 2012 and has been taking the heavy rock and roll genre by storm ever since.
Blacktop Mojo finds a way to put its unique twist on rock and roll to create a sound all its own. The earliest Blacktop Mojo song that can be found on Spotify is “I Will Ramble On”, released in 2013. 2016 was a big year for Blacktop Mojo. Kicking off the year with their release of “Where the Wind Blows” and following it up with their release of “Dream On”, the band grew their popularity to new heights. “Where the Wind Blows” currently has over 10 million streams on Spotify alone and “Dream On” has amassed over 15 million streams on Spotify.
Blacktop Mojo took their popularity and ran with it, continuing to release the music their fans had come to enjoy. The release of their single “Can’t Sleep” in 2019 and their EP “Static” in 2020 solidified their spot as a rock band that is here to stay.
This year, Blacktop Mojo released their acoustic live performance of their song “My Girl”.
