Amazon's Twitch adds music directory
Music has just become its very own category on the Amazon owned service Twitch.
The music directory is “home to musical artists and all of the best live performances, music production and special events” according to Twitch.
The music tab on Twitch is organized into different categories which feature various types of music content. You can find live broadcasts and artists by different tags that are based on specific genres.
Tracy Chan, the platforms VP and Head of Music, issued a tweet on November 19th stating, “Music is no longer a game on Twitch, it is a full blown category!”
In a time where live concerts have been almost impossible for most artists, it comes as a relief that one of the biggest streaming platforms are taking musician’s livelihoods more seriously.
Twitch is offering a new method of performance that will show to be extremely beneficial for many artists and creators in the world.
